The Plan
Drop my pedals off at Bike and Roll's
Millenium Park location Tuesday evening, fill
out the paperwork, have them set the bike/installed
pedals aside, and pick it up at 6:30am on Wednesday
morning. Ride about 15 miles north along the
Lakefront Path and surface street to Evanston,
reverse course back to the start, then go another
9 miles south, and reverse course again to finish.

Life is What Happens While You're
Making Other Plans

Tuesday's weather report for Wednesday showed
clouds. Wednesday had other plans. The first
four pics in the slide show present an idea
of how the ride started. The fifth pic fore-
shadows (emphasis on shadow) what was to come.
Fifteen minutes later, the sky darkened literally
to night and the clouds opened with as hard a
rain as I can remember. Another 10 minutes and
I found a covered pavillion to duck under. I
waited out the worst of the storm with two
other riders, then headed back out. I cut the
ride substantially short, turning around at
the north end of the Lakefront Path and heading
back to the rental shop, skipping the southern
swing. An interesting, drenching ride.
